During spring 2022, Warndon Parish Council proposed a poetry competition for young people in and around the locality, supported by former Worcester Laureate Leena Batchelor. The aim was to encourage the young people to engage with the local environment/ecology/history, so the theme was “a place or a space or a thing” –   a church, tree, field, shop, playpark, house etc.

Two Key Stage 3 students at Nunnery Wood High School picked up the challenge and their thoughtful poem (below) was inspired by the river; well done, Freya and Chloe !
