Warndon Parish Council joins the nation in mourning the sad passing of HRH Duke of Edinburgh

We offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this very difficult time and pay tribute to the life of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Residents can pay their respects to Prince Philip at the online Book of Condolence for Worcestershire. A national book of condolence is also available on The British Monarchy website.

The gates of the Guildhall will be open to allow people to leave flowers in tribute to His Royal Highness. These flowers will, at an appropriate time, be moved to the Cathedral. The Cathedral will also be open 7:30 a.m. -10.00 p.m. for the laying of flowers and lighting of candles.

Worcester residents who want to pay tribute by other means can donate to the Worcestershire Community Foundation.

The Union Flag is being flown at half-mast at City Council buildings, including the Guildhall, and at Cathedral Square. The Guildhall will be illuminated in purple during the national period of mourning.

Warndon Parish Council will be engaging with the local community in due course and considering ideas for a memorial to be located within the Parish, to recognise and remember HRH Prince Philip and his service to the country.
