Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer – VACANCY
We now have a vacancy for a Clerk & RFO, working flexibly around 60 hours monthly. You will be home based but must be prepared to attend evening meetings at least twice monthly, generally including the first Monday.
The major focus of the role is providing comprehensive administrative support for our eight Councillors and their committees, including liaison with residents and with both City and County Councils who provide the majority of our services to residents. As the Responsible Financial Officer, you will manage all the administration of the Parish Council’s finances and financial records, including liaising with the independent auditors. You will also run the Council’s website.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; the ability to understand and interpret local government law; financial accounting experience; plus a willingness to develop the role – our Parish Council has ambitions to increase its engagement with residents. Experience of servicing committees is essential and facility in Microsoft Office (ideally including TEAMS data management) is desirable.
Ideally you will hold the CiLCA qualification or be prepared to work towards achieving that; starting salary will depend on qualifications and relevant experience, in the range LC2 SCP 24 – 28 £28,672 – £32,234, pro rata.

Applicants will be invited to attend a panel interview in the week commencing 24th May and the successful candidate will be invited to attend the full Parish Council meeting on Monday 7th June, ideally taking up the appointment by 1st July.
