Beware – oil pollution

Please be cautious when using the footpath which runs from Trotshill Lane East to Dugdale Drive and adjacent to Mabbs Field and Allotments, especially if you are walking with dogs and/or small children. Sadly, there has been a leak from a heating oil tank at a nearby property which has seeped into the pond adjacent to this footpath. The Environment Agency have inspected the site and Oracle Environment Services are at work commencing the clean-up process. Specific timescales for the completion of the work are unknown, however could extend to several weeks. The area is very muddy and whilst the ground is being disturbed unavoidably there will be a strong oily smell.
